Sterling Aviation Technologies is proud announce an end to the fatigue problems of the Commander Model 112/114 elevator spars. The SA2000 Elevator Spar Replacement kit is an Alternate Means Of Compliance (AMOC) with AD2018-02-10 which required periodic inspections of, and potential replacement of the left and right elevator spars due to fatigue cracking. The spars, twice the thickness of the production spars are a replacement for the Commander Model 112/114 spar part numbers 44211-9 (LH) and 44211-10 (RH). The re-designed outboard hinge, a replacement for Commander hinge P/N 44285-1, and tip rib assembly eliminates the action which caused fatigue in the production spars. Fatigue analysis of the new spars shows that they will have a fatigue life far exceeding the expected life of the air-frame. The kit , for both left and right spars, comes with complete installation instructions, hardware, and all FAA documentation.
